Angostura Reservoir is a man-made lake located in southwestern South Dakota, United States. It was created by the construction of the Angostura Dam across the Cheyenne River in 1949. The reservoir has a surface area of 4,612 acres and a maximum depth of 65 feet. It is a popular recreation spot, offering opportunities for fishing, boating, camping, and hiking. The lake contains a variety of fish species including walleye, northern pike, and largemouth bass. Angostura State Recreation Area is located on the western shore of the reservoir and offers camping, picnicking, swimming, and other recreational activities.
